The Sound Monitor:
Continuous, Scalable & Contact-Free
The Sound Monitor is a scalable system for continuously monitoring acoustic anomalies in critical infrastructure, including partial-discharge activity and mechanical noise.
Its contact-free ultrasonic sensors give operations and maintenance teams the information needed to identify developing faults — such as cable-insulation degradation, gas leaks and bearing defects — and take action with confidence.
A Purpose-Built
Monitoring Platform
The Sound Monitor system combines compact S6 Sensors with the industrial Sensor Link SL-PoE. Up to twelve Power-over-Ethernet sensors with eight digital microphones each can be connected to a single control unit, enabling synchronous recording across a usable frequency range of up to 46.8 kHz.
Robust electromagnetic shielding and a weatherproof housing support reliable operation in electrically demanding and harsh environments down to -25°C.
For flexible integration, the sensor can be mounted using its integrated magnet or threaded mounting point.

Position Sensors
Where They Matter
The compact sensor can be secured using its integrated magnets or a threaded mounting point.
Its contact-free acoustic measurement principle, electromagnetic shielding and optional weatherproof housing support flexible placement close to critical equipment.
Install with Minimal Effort
Power over Ethernet (PoE) carries both power and data through a single connection, reducing cabling and installation effort.
One Sensor Link SL-PoE provides centralised power, connectivity and control for up to twelve sensor units.
Connect on Your Terms
The Sound Monitor integrates with existing on-premise networks or mobile-data connections, depending on site requirements.
Measurement data can be stored locally or in the cloud, enabling a deployment approach that fits your IT and security environment.

Customized Solutions for
Your Field of Application
From Continuous Monitoring
to Informed Action
The Sound Monitor system brings data capture, observation and alerting together in a clear, repeatable workflow.
Install & Record Data
Position sensor units where acoustic changes matter and connect them through Power over Ethernet. Configure recording intervals and duration to capture relevant data with minimal installation effort and efficient data volumes.
Analyse & Observe
Use the web dashboard and automatically generated reports to review recordings, acoustic trends and the health of each monitored location. Compare current behaviour with historical or reference data and investigate changes in detail.
Act on Alerts
Configurable thresholds identify changing conditions. Email or SMS notifications help maintenance teams prioritise investigation, plan the appropriate response and document findings.
From Data to Decision
The Sound Monitor software turns continuous acoustic recordings into a clear monitoring workflow: review your monitored locations, identify meaningful changes and act on the evidence.
See Your Fleet
at a Glance
Use the web dashboard to filter by site, group, location and time period. Clear location-health indicators, sensor status and measurement data provide a structured overview of your entire monitoring system.
Turn Recordings
into Trends
Compare current acoustic activity with historical and reference data across configurable frequency bands.
Drill down from trends to the underlying recording, spectrogram and filtered audio when a closer look is needed.
Prioritise What
Needs Attention
Configurable health thresholds trigger email or SMS notifications when conditions change.
Downloadable location reports combine health status, warning codes and supporting evidence for traceable maintenance decisions.
