The Sound Monitor
Pilot Program
A fast, practical first step towards insights into the health status of your critical assets.
The Pilot Program gives you a focused way to evaluate continuous acoustic monitoring on the assets that matter most—before deciding on a wider deployment.
Designed for Operators
of Critical Assets
This pilot is designed for operators and asset owners responsible for critical infrastructure, including offshore wind farms, substations, grid connections and industrial energy assets.
It is particularly valuable where an unexpected failure could create significant operational disruption, safety exposure or repair costs—and where maintenance decisions would benefit from continuous condition evidence rather than periodic inspection alone.
Why This Pilot May Be
Valuable for You
Detect Developing Issues
Before They Escalate
In electrical critical infrastructure, continuous acoustic monitoring helps reveal partial-discharge-related activity before insulation degradation becomes an unplanned failure.
Track critical cable terminations, switchgear, transformers, busbar bushings and comparable HV/MV components over time—giving your team earlier insight and more opportunity to plan the right response.
Maintain Visibility
Between Inspections
Periodic inspections provide only a snapshot. The Sound Monitor delivers continuous condition evidence between inspections, helping your team stay informed as risk develops.
This is especially valuable where shutdowns, access limitations, weather conditions or restricted service windows make reactive maintenance difficult and costly.
Prioritise Maintenance
With Better Evidence
Use trend-based evidence, health indicators and alerts to move beyond isolated indications or routine inspection findings.
The Sound Monitor solution helps distinguish the assets that need attention now from those that can continue to be monitored—supporting more confident maintenance priorities and better use of resources.

A Typical Pilot Journey
From a straightforward installation to a joint review of the findings, the pilot is designed to generate meaningful condition evidence with minimal disruption to operations. In a matter of weeks, you gain a practical basis for deciding how continuous monitoring can support your maintenance strategy.
Install
Install ultrasonic sensors at the selected asset locations and connect them through Sensor Link. Typical installation takes under 30 minutes in substations and one to two hours in wind turbines.
Monitor
Monitor acoustic activity continuously over a typical four-to-six-week period. The platform records configured data, identifies anomalies, and provides trends, health indicators and alerts to support an informed assessment.
Review
Review the collected evidence jointly with Seven Bel specialists. Discuss observed activity, trend development and asset health indicators, then agree the most appropriate next action—whether maintenance, further monitoring or another targeted assessment.
The Outcome You Can Expect
A successful pilot provides a viable monitoring approach for your asset, a usable reference baseline and a clear decision on how continuous location-health trends and alerts can support your maintenance strategy.
Following the asset review, scope, timing, success criteria and commercial terms are agreed jointly to ensure the pilot addresses your operational priorities.
