Seven Bel was founded in 2018 by Thomas Rittenschober in Linz. With his Sound Scanner, the mechatronics expert developed a new technology that enables the visualization of sound quickly and easily. Sound sources can be located and analyzed with unprecedented efficiency. We are proud to support engineers in their work with this innovation. Often, acoustic sources are not easy to identify or are not located where you would expect them to be. We offer solutions that make lengthy root cause analysis obsolete and sustainably improve optimization processes.
Humans are equipped with five senses to perceive their environment. The combination of these senses enables us to receive complete information and make effective decisions.
We are certain that the assessment of acoustic radiation of products and processes can only work properly in combination with the visualization of sound. Only the combination of hearing and seeing leads to correct insights and consequently to high quality technical solutions. It is our goal to make sound imaging self-evident and establish it as a natural process at many acoustic cases in the industrial and personal environment.
And just in case you didn’t know: Seventy decibel or seven bel of equivalent continuous sound pressure level is the threshold that is health-damaging for humans. We are proud to contribute to reducing the noise level of products and processes and making them more tolerable for people and the environment.
Upper Austrian Innovation Award 2020:
In November 2020, Seven Bel was awarded the Upper Austrian Innovation Award in the SME category. The expert jury was very impressed by our innovation for sound visualization. Our technology was able to convince through its novelty, the technical advantages over comparable systems, and the price attractiveness.
In July 2019, Thomas Rittenschober won the EDISON gold award for Seven Bel in the technology-oriented category with his project "Acoustic Camera 2.0 - a revolutionary mobile measurement device for visualizing sound events". EDISON the prize is a two-stage ideas competition aimed at creative, technology- and innovation-oriented inventors. The competition is organized by tech2b in cooperation with TECH HARBOR, Kunstuniversität Linz and CREATIVE REGION.
